THIS WEEK, Oct 4—Oct 8
Wednesday Night Gathering: The adult study will start at 7 p.m. in the multi-purpose room. It will also be live-streamed on Facebook.
Fifth Quarter: Friday after the game-midnight All teens are invited to join us for food, fun, & fellowship
Blood Drive: Friday, October 8, from 12—5 pm in the multi-purpose room. You can make your appointment by contacting the church office or visiting RedCrossBlood.org.
Homecoming: Sunday, October 10 is Homecoming! We will have a covered dish meal after the morning gathering at our new picnic shelter!
SMCC Revival: We will have our annual revival Monday, October 11 through Wednesday, October 13, starting at 7 pm. Buddy Reed will be speaking all three nights. We will also have nursery, preschool & K-5 classes.
Trunk or Treat: Wednesday, October 27 from 6:00—8:00 pm. We need help in several areas including set-up, food, clean-up, car trunks, and candy donations. Please sign-up in the area you would like to help! See the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.
Camp Pitt Harvest Day: Sunday, November 7, the Harvest Day benefit will be at Camp Pitt starting at 3:00 pm. This benefit is to support the programs and projects for Camp Pitt. See the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board if you want to attend. Monday, October 25th is the deadline to sign up.
CHURCH FAMILY UPDATES & NEWS
Grace Network Donation: Canned Beans or Peas (15 oz) For Oct-Dec
Pumpkin Patch: It’s that time of the year again! Grace Network has asked the church to volunteer at the pumpkin patch. SMCC will volunteer for on the following dates: October 7 and October 14, from 1—4 pm. Please see the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.
Just A Little Walk With Jesus: Get outside and join the SMCC family for the semi-annual fitness challenge in the month of October. The challenge will consist of walking/running/biking/etc. 15 miles in the month of October. The cost to participate in this challenge is $25, or $30 with a t-shirt. 100% of the proceeds will go to Sonlight Christian Mission. Registration is open until October 10th. Stop by the registration table in the breezeway or see the church office to register for this event. You must pre-register for this event to get a t-shirt.
Operation Christmas Child: We will be participating in OCC again this year. For the next six weeks, we encourage the SMCC family to begin collecting items that will go into the boxes. For item ideas by age and gender please go to www.samaritanspurse.org. We will be collecting your family’s boxes beginning in November!
The Fifth Quarter: Friday Nights will be following the Bassett football games until midnight. We will have food, games, music, & fellowship! We will also have guest speakers in October! Save the dates: October 8th, October 15th, & November 5th.
Scaremare: Friday, Oct. 22nd We will leave SMCC at 5 & plan to be back by 11. We will stop for a fast food meal. Tickets are $12 (line slasher). The sign-up sheet is beside Pam’s door.
Trunk or Treat: Wednesday, October 27 from 6—8 pm. This is a safe event for the whole family. Come dressed in your costume (not too scary, spooky, or ghoulish) and trick or treat from the line of cars!
