Announcements For Sunday, August 30

Congregational Meeting: A congregational meeting will be held today after the morning gathering. We are asking for the members to stay and cast your vote for the church officers.

Connection Card: Please utilize the connection card. Fill out the connection card through the SMCC app or fill out the card attached to this bulletin if you have any prayer requests, change in your information, and concerns. This is also a record of attendance.

SMCC will be participating with the Salvation Army’s Christmas in the Summer program to raise funds to help our local Salvation Army. The Salvation Army is only as good as it’s supporting community! We will have the “Red Kettle” here for the next three weeks and if you would like to help this great organization financially you can donate in that way. If you cannot support the Salvation Army financially there are also various other ways of giving back to our community in such as: Property repair (painting, electrical work, vinyl siding repairs,), landscaping, volunteering for their community feeding program specifically cooks and of course volunteering for bell ringing in the months of November & December.

Mid-Week Gathering Note: Starting in September the Wednesday night gathering will be in the Main Auditorium at 7:00 pm.


Youth Volunteer Meeting: Sunday, September 6 a youth volunteer meeting with Pam Mabry will be after the morning gathering. Lunch will be provided.

Church Office: Monday, September 7 the church office will be closed in observance of Labor Day.

Gauley River Rafting: We will leave EARLY Saturday morning September 19 and be back Saturday night! The cost for all of this excitement is $90. This includes lunch on the river. Sign up ASAP on the main bulletin board. See Tim Wood for more info.

Grace Network Pumpkin Patch: SMCC has been assigned to work the Pumpkin Patch on Monday, October 1 & 8 from 1:00—4:00 pm. Sign- up sheet is located on church bulletin board.

Pancake Breakfast: Everyone is invited to enjoy a pancake breakfast on Saturday, October, 3.

Homecoming: Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 11 for our homecoming.

Creeper Trail: White Top Mountain to Damascus, VA— Saturday October 17th. The cost is $32 and includes your bicycle rental and shuttle service. We will meet at SMCC at 7 am and stop for a fast—food breakfast. Wear comfortable clothing and good shoes. Open to anyone 14 years old and without a guardian or younger with a guardian. Family Fall Festival: Everyone mark your calendars for Saturday, October 24 for this SMCC family event! More information coming soon for this event!


Grace Network Donation: Juice (40—60 oz) For July— Sept > Operation Christmas Child: We will be collecting again this year for Operation Christmas Child. The items will be the same as in years past. Start stocking up now on school supplies and other supplies. More info coming soon!


Attention All Parents: GET READY! It’s time for your children to get connected again! KIDS BLAST for grades K—5. No matter rain or shine Kids Blast will be held! Pam is excited about teaching and equipping your children to believe, learn, and serve together as a family! The guidelines will be followed to protect your children.
